#27 JABBA'S SKIFF GUARD Bastila Shan 2014 The Black Series

This skiff guard works for Jabba The Hutt. Skiff guards are usually mercenaries or slaves whose duties include defending the skiff from attack and keeping prisoners in line.

When the #27 Jabba's Skiff Guard was revealed in Hasbro's showroom at the 2014 International Toy Fair, there was no mention that the figure would have a generalized (old school) name. As a part of the pre-2014 established Expanded Universe this guy was known as Brock Starsher. There is no official word on why the name wasn't used, though some suppose it was part of Disney's intentions of canonizing all post-2014 stories.

The debut #27 Jabba's Skiff Guard action figure shipped in the fifth wave of The Black Series 3 3/4-inch collection along with the all-new #26 Darth Vader, the (finally) updated #28 Ree-Yees, and The Empire Strikes Back #29 Wedge Antilles action figures. This assortment began hitting both virtual and physical shelves in August, 2014.

Back before the world wide web and social media ruled our shopping habits there was a long-established practice of driving around all the nearby toy stores to hunt down the latest releases. Obviously times have changed and online retail is far more important than it was twenty-five years ago - but has it killed the toy run? What was your shopping experience over the Triple Force Friday product launch weekend?
I managed to find everything I wanted in stores!
I found some but had to resort to big box websites to complete my haul.
I didn't bother stepping outside and ordered everything online.
I haven't bought any of the TFF product yet. Roll on clearance sales.
I'm waiting for the TV series/movie release before I commit.
I've so over it, no more Star Wars collecting for me.
