The last hurrah of the LEGO: Star Wars VIP Card is finally here and card holders have each received an email with a unique code and the instructions "Use the following code on any Star Wars purchase to claim yours!"

In the same lackadaisical manner that has marked the entire Star Wars VIP Card programme, there is no indication how the voucher can be redeemed, and clicking on the splash graphic only takes the reader to the landing page for the LEGO Star Wars theme, where there is no mention of the card holder whatsoever.

Scrolling down thr email to the fine print does reveal some more details - the offer is valid for purchases at from 12/07/2018 to 01/31/2019, or while stocks last and qualifying purchase must be in LEGO Star Wars merchandise only.

It turns out that rub of the offer is that this holder is another gift with purchase, further rubbing salt into the wounds of people who spent $800 on the 75192 Millennium Falcon when it first came out in 2017.

With no hint in the email at what the minimum spend is we reached out to a number of collectors who had completed the process to get one of these and the feedback was largely confusing, but after some sifting it would seem that any LEGO Star Wars purchase is enough to qualify. Our recommendation is to buy a Rey, Finn or Poe Dameron keychain for $2.49 plus $4.95 S&H, letting you have this final Club 75192 exclusive for $7.44. Don't get too hung up on trying to add your unique code - we are getting reports that the holder is being automatically added to carts - though in some cases the holder isn't showing up in the cart until the order receives its "in warehouse" designation.

Quite the steal (though it should be free in our opinion), especially since they are fetching double that on eBay already.

Back before the world wide web and social media ruled our shopping habits there was a long-established practice of driving around all the nearby toy stores to hunt down the latest releases. Obviously times have changed and online retail is far more important than it was twenty-five years ago - but has it killed the toy run? What was your shopping experience over the Triple Force Friday product launch weekend?
I managed to find everything I wanted in stores!
I found some but had to resort to big box websites to complete my haul.
I didn't bother stepping outside and ordered everything online.
I haven't bought any of the TFF product yet. Roll on clearance sales.
I'm waiting for the TV series/movie release before I commit.
I've so over it, no more Star Wars collecting for me.
